Significance of Umrah

Umrah is the demonstration of love and dedication to Allah which is a Sunnah deed for the Muslim brothers and sisters. This is an Islamic journey that can be made throughout the year towards the holy city of Makka in Saudi Arabia. This journey is the most significant one after the ritual of ‘Hajj’. Prophet Muhammad PBUH had performed this ritual twice in his lifetime and so it has become a significant one for the Muslim pilgrims since then. It is one of the rituals that require a sense of complete devotion towards Allah while visiting the holy cities of Makka and Madina. For Muslims around the globe, Umrah is a common and well-observed religious activity. Each and every year, Muslim brothers and sisters go to Makka as a part of devoting themselves to the almighty Allah with this ritual. So the necessities of Umrah are immense.

Umrah is a sacred custom for those Muslims who are monetarily and physically capable to carry out. It is a righteous deed that is unique in nature and approved by our beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH. This spiritual voyage will bring a tremendous possibility of clearing out past sins and will give a better chance of starting a new and honest life. In Islam, Muslims are permitted to carry out Umrah on various occasions throughout their life. One needs to keep his or her absolute focus on the genuine motivation behind Umrah for the love of Allah.   

Umrah consists of fewer days and fewer duties than Hajj. Muslim brothers and sisters can have a greater experience of observing the holy cities of Makka and Madina during this ritual. In addition, they may get a slight chance of training during this period. By having a tour at the holy places, they may be able to gather prior experience before doing the bigger event, Hajj.  

With the help of Umrah, a Muslim person can improve a sense of peacefulness in his or her soul. Allah will bring a lot of Sawaab for doing Umrah at Makka. Inner peace will be established and the dark heart will be lighter with the blessings of Almighty Allah during Umrah. During the holy month of Ramadan, Umrah is an ideal ritual for Muslims who are financially stable.  

The Muslim Unity is getting more visible with the higher integration of them during the hajj and Umrah period. The bonding and global friendship can also be developed with Umrah. It is a simple but ideal ritual that is spreading the messages of Islam in the most efficient way for the welfare of mankind.

There are some worldly benefits of doing Umrah as well. From this ritual, a Muslim brother or sister can get a higher life value, a better income source or something incredible with family members. Therefore the overall worldly benefits of Umrah will be much higher than doing other activities other than religion.  

Umrah develops a Muslim person’s view of cooperation. Some important aspects on that matter involve the tasks done during the Umrah at the holy cities of Makka and Madina; staying for few days at those holy cities and saying prayers 5 times a day with other Muslims. Nothing can be achieved without full devotion and dedication. So Umrah will help a Muslim brother or sister to gain a sense of cooperation.
