Requirements to Perform Umrah in 2023
Following requirements needed to perform Umrah in 2023
- A passport valid for six months from the day the Umrah visa application is submitted.
- A genuine passport-sized color photograph with a white background.
- Evidence of relationship if traveling as a Mahram with women and children - the mahram must fly on the same flight as the ladies and children.
- Cover the medical policy requirements for an Umrah visa.
Note: Keep in mind that the Umrah visa is only valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Having said that, you may apply for an Umrah visa online, and it will be approved within 24 hours.
Meet Medical Policies given by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah
All Umrah travelers must pass the standards given by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of KSA. Some of the necessary medical criteria are as follows:
- All Umrah visitors must have medical insurance to cover any COVID-19-related treatment expenditures while in the country.
- While most COVID-19-related restrictions have been eliminated in Saudi Arabia, pilgrims seeking to conduct the Umrah must show proof of vaccination after landing in the KSA.

- A Meningococcal Meningitis Vaccination Certificate - The vaccination certificate cannot be older than 3 years or less than 10 days earlier arrival in Saudi Arabia.
- All international pilgrims from polio-endemic and re-established transmission nations must obtain one dose of Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) at least six weeks before arriving in Saudi Arabia.
- The Saudi Ministry of Health recommended that all international pilgrims get immunized against seasonal influenza before arriving in Saudi Arabia. Pregnant women, the elderly, and anyone with underlying health concerns is strongly advised to get the Seasonal Flu Shot before traveling.
- All foreign pilgrims from yellow fever-risk nations or territories must have a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate demonstrating that they were vaccinated at least 10 days and no more than 10 years before departure.
